We spent the day in east Mosul distributing food, water, and providing medical care to hundreds of IDPs who recently fled the west side of the city as coalition forces liberated it from the Islamic State.
These neighborhoods are incredibly distressed, and lacking basic resources. We distributed food rations that'll last each family through the next 72 hours.
We met a young boy who, having spent most of his formative years under the fist of ISIS jihadis, bears scars from wounds they inflicted on him.
