IRAQ // The Hawija Offensive

Last week, the Iraqi government announced the start of an operation to retake the town of Hawija from the Islamic State. 

Hawija, located in the oil-rich province of Kirkuk, is one of the last pockets of territory held by ISIS fighters in Iraq. 

FAI Relief personnel are on the ground with the Iraqi Army helping care for civilians and casualties during the offensive.
